Ching Ming Jie

The Chinese Historic Cemetery is located next to Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Entrance: Front gatee of Oak Hill Cemetery, turn right at the parking lot next to the chapel.

Objective: To pay respects and honor the pioneers in this country

Ceremony: Performed by Taoist priest Mr. Luu. He will conduct prayers, burning of incense, paper offerings, etc.

There is no religious affiliation but to honor our early pioneers who are buried in this plot (~300) with no family in this country. You can participate in reading the names of those buried.

Brief history:

This plot of 140'x160' was donated by The 8 Companies in San Francisco Chinatown in the late 1800s. Agreement was that Oak Hill will oversee and care for the cemetery.
